Adding a Collaborator to Your SiteGround website to give us access to manage your SiteGround hosting

To add a collaborator to your website hosted on SiteGround, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Client Area: Log in to your SiteGround account and navigate to your Client Area.
  2. Manage Users: Click on your profile icon and select “Manage Users”.
  3. Add New User: Click on the “Add New User” button. A pop-up window will appear where you can select the collaborator option.
  4. Select Website: Choose the website you want to give the collaborator access to.
  5. Enter Details: Add the name and email address of the collaborator in the respective fields and click “Add”.
  6. Send Invitation: The collaborator will receive an email invitation to create their collaborator profile with SiteGround.

Collaborator Role

A collaborator is a user with access to the Site Tools of your site, excluding the email and domain management sections. They have their own SiteGround Client Area and do not log into yours. Collaborators can request support from SiteGround regarding your website.

Example: Adding a Developer, such as O’Brien Media, as a Collaborator

If you want to give your developer access to your site, you can add them as a collaborator:

  1. Navigate to Websites: Go to your Client Area and find the desired website.
  2. Manage Users: Click the kebab menu next to the website and select “Manage Users”.
  3. Add Users: Scroll down and click “Add Users”, then select the Collaborator option.
  4. Enter Developer Details: Fill in the email and name of your developer and click “Add”. Use the email address we provide to you along with a name you will remember is us.
  5. Send Invitation: The developer will receive an email to accept the invitation within 48 hours.

Once accepted, the developer will have access to all the Site Tools of your site, except the email management section. They will log into their own Client Area and will not have access to your login and profile details.
