This policy sets out how we use and protect any information that you give us when you use this website and the services we provide.

O’Brien Media is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

We’re registered as a data controller the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZA304284) and process and store your personal information in accordance with current data protection legislation.

What we need

O’Brien Media will be what’s known as the “Controller” of the personal data you provide to us. We collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location based information. This does however include name, address, email, telephone numbers, website address, etc.

We may combine personal information with other information we collect or obtain about you (such as information we source from our third party partners), to serve you specifically, such as to deliver a product or service according to your preferences or restrictions, or for advertising or targeting purposes in accordance with this privacy policy.

Why we need your personal information

We need to know your basic personal data to provide you with marketing and website development and support services in line with any service agreement or contract you enter into with us. This includes providing you with service quotations and estimates and replying to service related queries via email or that you submit via the contact forms on our website.

We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need to provide and oversee the services we provide to you or for the purposes outlined on the form or page used to collect the information.

What we do with your personal information

Your personal information is accessible only by our staff in the UK and used to manage your account with us and provide you with the services you contract with us to supply to you.

Where in the world is your information?

The majority of personal information is stored on systems in the UK. But there are some occasions where some of your information may leave the UK either in order to get to another organisation or if it’s stored in a system outside of the European Union.

We have additional protections on your information if it leaves the UK ranging from secure ways of transferring data to ensuring we have a robust contract in place with that third party.

If data is processed outside of the European Union we will ensure that an appropriate Data Processing Agreement is in place and will make them available to you on our website.

What we would also like to do with your information

We would however like to use your name, email address and postal address to inform you of our future offers and similar products. This information is not shared with third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time via phone, email or our website. Please indicate below if this is something you would like to sign up to.

How long we keep your information

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years from the date you last entered into a financial transaction with us, after which time it will be destroyed.

Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

How we protect your information

We’ll do all we can to make sure we hold your personal information in a secure way, and will only make them available to those who have a right to see them.

Examples of our security practices include:

  • Encryption, meaning that information is hidden so that it cannot be read without special knowledge (such as a password).
  • Controlling electronic and physical access to systems to stop people who are not allowed to view your personal information from getting access to it

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you request to see this information and even have it corrected or deleted.
