How to Manage Tasks and Your Sales Pipeline in the Client Connect CRM

Never let a follow-up slip with tasks and due dates, and see what is coming in at a glance with the sales pipeline board in the Client Connect CRM (beta).

Two of the most useful parts of the Client Connect CRM (beta) are Tasks, which keep follow-ups from slipping, and the Pipeline, which shows at a glance what business is coming in. Both are in the CRM, which is switched on per user, so ask us if you would like it enabled. To start with contacts, see how to manage contacts and companies.

Tasks and follow-ups

  1. Sign in to connect.obrienmedia.uk.
  2. Open CRM in the menu, then choose the Tasks tab.
  3. Choose Add Task, give it a title, link it to a contact if you like, and set a due date and a priority.
  4. When it is done, mark it complete. Completed tasks are kept in a list below.

The list shows each open task’s title, who it relates to, the due date and its priority, such as Critical, High or Medium. Anything past its due date is marked Overdue, and the Tasks tab shows how many are overdue, so you can spot a forgotten follow-up straight away. The CRM also flags contacts you have not spoken to in 90 days.

The sales pipeline

Choose the Pipeline tab to see your deals laid out as a board. Each column is a stage, such as Prospect, Contacted, Quoted and Agreed, with the total value of the deals in that stage at the top.

  • Choose Add Deal, or the plus sign at the top of a column, to add a deal, with its value, the contact and company it relates to and an expected date.
  • Each deal is a card. As the deal moves forward, drag its card to the next column.
  • Use the menu on a card (the three dots) for other options, such as editing the deal.
  • Deals you win or lose are moved to the Won Deals or lost archive below the board. Lost deals record why they were lost, which helps you learn for next time.

Good to know

  • Everyone on your team sees the same tasks and deals, with who did what recorded on each one.
  • The total at the top of the pipeline is the value of your open deals.
  • The CRM is in beta, so we are still polishing it. Tell us what you would like through Feature Suggestions.
