See who visits your website, where they come from and what they look at, using the website statistics in Client Connect, and what the main figures mean.
In this article
Client Connect includes privacy-friendly website statistics, so you can see how many people visit your website, where they come from and what they look at, without needing a separate analytics account. The figures update in real time and sit alongside the rest of your account.
Where to find them
- Sign in to connect.obrienmedia.uk.
- Open Website performance from the menu.
- If you have more than one website with us, choose the one you want to look at.
- Pick the period you are interested in, such as today, the last week or the last month.
Menu and button names can change slightly as we improve Client Connect.
What the main figures mean
- Visitors is roughly how many different people came to your site in the period.
- Visits is how many times people came. One person coming back three times is one visitor but three visits.
- Page views is the total number of pages looked at.
- Top pages shows which pages are viewed most. It tells you what your visitors care about.
- Where visitors come from (sources or referrers) shows whether people found you through a search engine, by typing your address, from social media, or by clicking a link on another website.
- Trends show how all of this changes over time, so you can see whether a campaign, a new page or a busy season made a difference.
The exact labels in Client Connect may differ a little from the ones above. Our glossary of SEO reporting terms explains more of the words you may come across.
Making use of the figures
- Look at your top pages. If an important service page is not among them, it may be worth improving it or linking to it from your home page.
- Look at where visitors come from. A lot of search traffic suggests your search visibility is working. Little may mean it is worth talking to us about SEO.
- Look at changes after you do something, such as sending an email, posting on social media or putting up a poster with a tracked QR code.
- Do not worry about small day-to-day ups and downs. Look for trends over weeks and months.
Your visitors’ privacy
The statistics are powered by our own self-hosted analytics, so your visitors’ data stays with us and is not handed to an advertising company. It is designed to be privacy-friendly.
Is my website up?
Client Connect also runs ongoing checks on your website, including whether it is up, and when your SSL certificate and domain are due to expire, and warns you before they lapse. Look for Site health in the menu.
