A Smoother Way to Stay Informed: Plugin Update Notifications Are Changing

We wanted to let you know about a small but important change in how we let you know when updates are made to the plugins on your WordPress website. If you’ve noticed those update notification emails going a bit quiet recently—you’re not imagining it!

Up until now, these notifications were sent manually by one of us after we completed plugin updates. While this personal touch can be lovely, it does take up valuable time that could otherwise be spent on proactive work for your website. Our team always aims to prioritise time on the things that make the biggest difference—like updates, fixes, and performance improvements.

We know it’s helpful to get a heads-up when changes are made, so we’ve come up with a better way. Chris has built a clever new system that automatically puts together a summary of the plugin updates we’ve completed and emails it to you and if you have multiple sites with us the email will include all of your sites – no more one email per site!. That summary also gets saved to your helpdesk record and our Client Connect portal—making it easier for you to keep track and follow up if needed.

Just to be clear: the plugin updates themselves are still done by hand. We don’t use automatic bulk updates because we want to keep your site as stable and secure as possible. Manual updates reduce the risk of things going wrong—and if something does go awry, we’re right there to fix it.

This new system simply helps you stay in the loop without us needing to pause and type out emails every time an update goes through. That means more of your support time goes directly into keeping your website running smoothly—and less on admin.
