How Brexit could affect your online business: .eu domain name owners

If you have a .eu domain name your ownership of it may be affected by Brexit, scheduled for October 31st, you may want to make sure you take the action needed to protect your online business and .eu domain.

  1. If you HAVE a European postal address: Update your domain details so that your European address is registered. This way, you will be able to keep your .eu domain and secure it from being taken by your competition.
  2. If you DO NOT HAVE a European address: Unfortunately, you will not be able to keep your .eu domain name once Britain leaves the EU. This may be as soon as October 31st if no-deal Brexit occurs. We recommend that you transfer your site to a new domain to keep business running as usual during the Brexit transition and beyond.
