If you’re a regular user of Royal Mail’s fantastic Click & Drop service (that allows you to print postage at home, track your orders, and dispatch either at a postbox, post office, or at the newer parcel postboxes) you’ll be pleased to hear that the usual 2 day postal window for getting your parcels from the point of printing the label to posting the item have been relaxed to seven days. Relaxing the postal window is great for allowing fewer journeys and better adherence to social distancing and lockdown measures currently in place in the UK.

Via the Click & Drop website, Royal Mail announced the following:

Following feedback relating to customer concerns over the post by date when purchasing a label through Click & Drop during these difficult times, we have now updated the labels Click & Drop produce to extend the post by date to 7 calendar days.  You dont need to do anything to update your settings, this update has been applied to all labels Click & Drop produces.

Welcome news indeed and when coupled with the availability of parcel Postboxes, that we covered in a previous blog post, this can only come as welcome news to small and home-based online and retail businesses trying to bring a little joy into peoples lives at this dark time.
