We introduced a new, more streamlined, visual style to the website and upgraded it to the latest version of the Drupal CMS, that has been powering Swindon Women’s Aid’s websites since 2012.Swindon Women's Aid
Back in 2015 we developed the first mobile-friendly website for Swindon Women’s Aid, and before that in 2012 we developed their first website. Creating a basic mobile-friendly website was, at the time, critically important as over 55% of visitors accessing their website via a mobile device. Fast forward to 2017 and mobile based visitors now account for over 65% of visitors. As a domestic abuse service it is essential those visitors can access information on the range of services provided by the charity.
Having worked with Swindon Women’s Aid previously we were already familiar with the charity and their aims.
We reviewed visitor data collected since their first mobile friendly website went live in 2015 and identified elements that could be improved to further ease access to information essential to the wellbeing of domestic abuse victims and survivors.
We introduced a new, more streamlined, visual style to the website and upgraded it to the latest version of the Drupal CMS, that has been powering Swindon Women’s Aid’s websites since 2012. The decision to continue to use Drupal was made due to it’s stability, to allow staff to continue to manage the site using knowledge built up over the past 5 years, and the allow the continued use of custom Drupal modules and functionality that had been previously developed for Swindon Women’s Aid.
In the words of Abby Ayre, Swindon Women's Aid
"Swindon Women’s Aid selected O’Brien Media to redesign our website for the attention to detail, research and understanding of our organisation and for the high quality standards that we always receive.
We have a great website and presence online thanks to the up to date website which is also mobile friendly. We have been able to promote our service via a variety of business cards, posters, leaflets and banners which never fail to disappoint.
If you’re undecided about whether to work with O’Brien Media I’d say go for it! You won’t be disappointed."
