Project Management Terms - What is Scope Creep?

Scope creep happens when extra features or changes are added to a website project that weren’t part of the original plan. This can make projects more complicated and lead to unexpected work.

Common examples of scope creep:

  • Adding new pages or sections mid-project
  • Requesting extra features like pop-ups or bookings after development has started
  • Changing approved designs during the build

How we manage it at O’Brien Media:

  • We clearly define the scope from the start
  • We review and agree on any new requests with you
  • We keep in regular contact so you’re always in the loop
