Guide to Creating an Account and Accepting an Agency Invite on Meta Business

This guide provides a step-by-step process to create an account on Meta Business (formerly Facebook Business) and accept an invitation from a Social Media Marketing agency such as O’Brien Media to manage Facebook and/or Instagram profiles.

Step 1: Create a Facebook Account

  1. Go to Facebook: Open your web browser and navigate to www.facebook.com.
  2. Sign Up: Click on “Create New Account” and follow the prompts to create a personal Facebook account if you don’t already have one.

Step 2: Set Up Meta Business Account

  1. Log in to Facebook: Log in to your personal Facebook account.
  2. Go to Meta Business Suite: Navigate to Meta Business Suite.
  3. Create Business Account: Click on “Create Account” and fill in the required information, including your business name, your name, and your business email address.
  4. Complete Setup: Follow the prompts to complete the setup of your Meta Business Account.

Step 3: Accept the Agency Invitation

  1. Check Your Email: Look for an email from Meta Business (or Facebook) containing the invitation to manage the Facebook and/or Instagram profiles.
  2. Open the Email: Open the email and click on the “Accept Invitation” button. This will redirect you to the Meta Business Suite.
  3. Log In (if necessary): If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in to your Facebook account.
  4. Review Invitation: Review the details of the invitation from the agency.
  5. Accept Invitation: Click “Accept” to confirm that you want to accept the invitation and manage the profiles.

Step 4: Configure Business Settings

  1. Go to Business Settings: In Meta Business Suite, navigate to “Business Settings” from the menu on the left.
  2. Verify Access: Under “Users” -> “People,” ensure that your name appears with the appropriate roles and permissions.
  3. Add Instagram Account (if applicable): If the invitation includes managing an Instagram account, make sure it is linked by going to “Accounts” -> “Instagram Accounts” and ensuring the account is listed there.

Step 5: Manage the Profiles

  1. Navigate to Accounts: Go to “Accounts” -> “Pages” or “Instagram Accounts” to see the profiles you have access to.
  2. Start Managing: Click on the account you wish to manage and start managing the posts, ads, and other activities as required.

Additional Tips

  • Notifications: Make sure to enable notifications to stay updated on any activity or changes.
  • Roles and Permissions: If you need to add other team members, you can do so under “Users” -> “People” by clicking “Add” and assigning the necessary roles.
  • Security: Enable two-factor authentication for added security on your Meta Business Account.
